The decoration of the two boards is identical: the surface shows spiral rose tendrils inside a field of linear borders. The tendrils create an inner borderline for the two, cross-cutting, 8-shaped middle field, with an oval ring in the centre. The spine has six compartments and five false bands, the title is in the second one. The date 1897 is at the bottom. White vellum endpapers, red and black sewn headband. The head edges are gilt.
