The legs rest on double feet, joined by a pierced plinth, elaborately carved with chestnut leaves. The top is four-lobed, decorated with rich inlay of swallows flying and resting on a wire, under chestnut boughs. It also bears the inscription GALLÉ EXPOSITION DE 1900, SOLIDARITY According to the inscription, this table was made for the 1900 Paris International Exhibition.
