The four legs are joined with plain stretchers at the back and on the two sides the front stretcher is pierced. The seat is rectangular. The ends of the stiles at the pierced back support are decorated with acanthus leaves. The back support itself consists of splines with a carved heart, a rosetta, a volute and a stylized leaf. A companion piece can be found in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Cat. 1972b, No. 140.
