The paper plates are bound in parchment, painted dark blue. The front plate is framed by gilt ser- ate motifs inside the frame is a rich decoration of flowers, leaves, tendrils and shells. The middle shows a horizontal oval field with a scene painted on a white background: two angels holding a wreathed escutcheon with ASF initials, market S. Flitner 1802. The decoration of the black plate is identical with the front one the oval field shows a painted scene: in front of a castle, a man wearing a monk's gown plays the hoop under a tree, while, behind the tree, another young man with a sword peeps out. The saddle is divided into a large and a small field, showing the gilt title: Denkmahl / der / Freundschaft. The endpapers are impressed with small patterns of red and green the headband is sewn with orange and white thread, with gilt engravings.
