Islamic Art
The Islamic artefacts form an important part of the collections at the Museum of Applied Arts. Specially valued are the collection of Ottoman--Turkish objects which include wide spectrum of works of art from the weapons, textiles made from silk and saddles through ceramics. Most of these objects had entered the Hungarian and Transylvanian noble collections directly from the Ottoman Empire in the course of the 16th and 17th century at the time of the Turkish rule and they entered the Museum of Applied Arts from the 1880s.
