The 1896 exhibition of the National Hungarian Royal School of Applied Art

The Országos Mintarajziskola és Rajztanárképző (National School of Art and Art Education) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1896, for which it held an exhibition that incorporated the work by both current students and alumni. The space available was insufficient for the school to properly present the full range of its teaching and other activities, and so the exhibition was confined to the work of students, particularly from the classes that took up a lot of space. These were: Decorative Sculpture, Small Sculpture, Decorative Painting, Metalware, Xylography (wood engraving), Engraving, and the general class.
