Sándor Nagy

An outstanding artist of the Hungarian Art Nouveau, one of the founders of the Gödöllő colony of artists. He was inspired by the Secession’s Gesamt- kunstwerk, by the theories of Ruskin and Morris concerning ideal craftsmanship, by Tolstoyan moral philosophy and by Hungarian folk art. He drew cartoons for gobelins, designed and executed objects made of leather and wood, illustrated books, produced engravings and painted symbolic and decorative frescoes and paintings.
