Aubrey Vincent Beardsley
British graphic artist, one of the creators of the Modem Style. He illustrated several literary works (e.g., Thomas Mallory’s ’’Morte d’Arthur”, Oscar Wilde’s "Salome”.) His decorative art of black and white lines and patches, along with his erotic symbolism, exerted a powerful influence on the art of the turn of the 20th century. In 1907 an exhibition of his work was held at the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts.
