Ceramic and porcelain artist
She was born in Budapest in 1941.
She graduated in 1967 from the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts (today: the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design) in porcelain design under master ceramicist Imre Schrammel.
From 1967 to 1984, she worked as a designer at the Alföld Porcelain Factory in Hódmezővásárhely, mainly designing tableware, vessels, and sets. In 1976, she became the factory’s artistic director. Her works include the Bella-207 and UNISET-212 tableware sets; parts of the latter are still produced today.
In 1984, she established her own studio in Budapest, where she also produced larger works for public spaces.
Some of her more important professional distinctions include awards at the Varia tableware design competition (1972); the International Mini Ceramics Triennial, Zagreb, Yugoslavia (1984); and the National Silicate Industry Design Triennial, Kecskemét, Hungary (1982, 1985). She has also received the Ministry of Culture’s Award of Excellence (1978) and the Noémi Ferenczy (2004) and István Gádor (2013) Prizes.
She was a regular member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
