The watch has a double cover, a joint rim, a pierced cock of brass, a strike mechanism, and a white enamel dial with black Arabic numerals. There is a gold-plated picture in the middle of the dial, showing a bearded figure striking a bell with a hammer, in an architectural scene with columns. At the bottom, two sitting cupids strike bells. The back of the mechanism is engraved with the inscription “Berthoud a Paris”, while the inner cover shows “H. Meumier (sic!) a Paris No. 11968”. The hanger is oval.
