The plinth is divided into two fields with drawers by three pilasters. The two pilasters on the sides have bright metal intarsia on a dark background the one in the middle has an alternative intarsia on a light background. The drawers are framed by scrolls the lower border of the plinth is curved. The front is divided into two arched fields by the same pilasters of dark and bright decoration. These fields are made of ash and have two borders - one with rusticated, the other with geometrical decoration. The rusticated outer border resembles the broad-stone frontals of Renaissance palaces. The top of the chest has two profiled inlays. Inside, is a smaller chest standing on two shelves. The inside is either plain pine or painted in green. The structure and proportions of this chest resemble the one with a scene of Lucretia, also in the collection of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts (Cat. No. 358).
