Wardrobe

The vertically and horizontally jointed body stands on five lathe-turned feet. The bottom rim is carved with twisted ribbons the front corners are rounded. The surfaces of the round corners, as well as the centres of the two doors, are deco-rated with rosettes between two rectangular, in-laid fields. The rosettes on the doors are carved, enclosed by a narrow wreath of leaves. Those on the corners are decorated with flowers with petals of burnt intarsia. The vertical lath between the doors emphasizes the axis of the cupboard, and the bottom rim and the middle of the top corniche are similarly enriched. The laths and the bottom rim are decorated with twisted lines of ribbons. The jointed, horizontal top cornice is decorated with a line of serrated ornaments, below a line of string of pearl motifs and followed by convex and concave parts. The cresting is a carved, pierced trellis, with slightly protruding corners and middle. Each of the four inlaid fields of the doors shows a standing figure, symbols of horticulture and agriculture formed by inlay and burning techniques.
