The front of the cupboard is flanked by an engaged columns on each side. The door panels are decorated with relief, with Neorenaissance ornaments - a female figure springing out from a vase, rich foliage leaning out from acanthus leaves and stylised flowers - in front of a background imitating blocked leather. The backs of the cupboards are also divided into four panels. There is a paper etiquette in the cross-point of the frame laths. The structure and therefore the decoration of the two cupboards is slightly different. Dating is hampered by the fact that neither of the cupboards can be found in the Kohn catalogues. According to Vera J. Behal, the use of large panels decorated with relief-like blocking started in the 1890s at the Kohn company (see Möbel des Jugendstils. Prestel Publishing Company, München, 1981 p.61.). The mark on the paper note has been used since 1894.
