The flat, thick, round plate depicts the portrait of Ferenc Pulszky (1814-1897), a scientist and public personality, in half profile. The drawing is shaded with cobalt pencil. The transparent, bright glaze is thin and was absorbed by the clay the rough surface has a great number of small holes.

The form (façon) number of the dish is probably 227, thus it was made in 1874.

In 1874-1875, several round plates with portraits of outstanding Hungarian personalities (e.g. Ferenc Déak, Lajos Kossuth, Miklós Ybl) were produced in the factory in cobalt, chrome and mangane colours.
