The short foot rim holds a shallow plate with broad rim. The various painted decors origin from the Hungarian folk pottery art. After the death of Béla Lipthay, his widow donated a plate series of 27 pieces - among others - to the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts, which can be identified on the basis of Teréz Zsolnay's memories as the 1875 order of the Zsolnay factory (see: Zsolnay 1974 p.58).

Each piece of this series was different, reflecting the results of the Zsolnay family as first collectors of folklore and folk art, and also displaying the targets that Vilmos Zsolnay had defined for himself. In this series of plates we can find motifs from Upper-Hungary, from Transylvania, the Great Plain and Baranya county, coupled with a revival of the Haban dishes. They are at the same time faithful imitations, variations and technical innovations differing from the original model.
