The cartouche-shaped rear panel is ornamented with a latticed pattern. There is a pair of volutes on each side of it above and on the bowl, shells, painted enamel foliage and flowers in late rococo style. It is ornamented with two enamelled panels: Christ on the Cross and Christ Healing the sick on the shore of the sea of Bethesda. 18 pieces of coloured beads imitating precious stones with frames of enamelled rosettes are dispersed around the surface of the work. Marks are punched into the two sides of the enamelled panels, and on the rear panel.
