The prismatic plinth of black marble stands on four jointed, fluted feet, decorated with strings of pearls. Its surface is covered with pierced foliage and flowers. There are four cast sphinxes on its top, holding a prismatic stand of white-veined marble, with an amethyst urn on top. The bottom of the urn is mounted with flame-gilt bronze, decorated with pierced and grotesque masks. The top rim is lined with a pierced decoration of engraved and fluted lines of leaves.
