The two narrow sides of the stout, bulging, flattened body are equipped with a twisted handle the top run is wavy, splaying. The front and back shows a young faun or female head, enframed by stylised plant ornaments. One companion piece of the vase described above, which was exhibited at the 1899 Paris Salon, was published among the picture supplements of the May 1899 number of the Revue des Arts Decoratifs, see 18/ p.3, ill.2.
