Between 1976 and 1977, Éva Ambrus, the designer and artistic director of the Alföld Porcelain Factory, designed the UNISET-212 commercial tableware set for the value analysis competition announced by the National Technical Development Committee. The UNISET-212 service was the first porcelain tableware set made using value analysis methods, and was not only perhaps the greatest success for the Alföld Porcelain Factory, but also in the designer’s career. This is clearly shown by the fact that the service, known as the “canteen set,” outlasted the fall of communism, privatization, and is still manufactured today.
