A vessel for olio (olla podrida), a dish of Spanish origin, a rich and thick stew consisting of meat and vegetables.
The splayed, cylindrical bowl stands on three feet of relief masks. There is a square handle, with a wavy edge outside, on each side of the tureen. The hemispherical cover has a conical finial. The bowl and the cover are decorated with rosettes, birds and foliage in relief.
