Mirror stand

The rectangular, terraced, jointed plinth is decorated with a row of acanthus leaves. The foot of the mirror, constructed of two leaves and Gothic tracery forms, springs from the centre of the plinth, with two small columns reaching up on the sides. They are to hold the folding, ogee-arched mirror frame, which is closed with a thin column on each side at the top, with a stripe of rosettes at the bottom. The ogee arch of the frame is filled with leaved foliage. A similar object can be found in the Museum of Cast-iron in Berlin its picture is published in Hermann Schmitz's Berliner Eisenkunstguss.
