Obverse: LEOPOLDUS M.ROM.IMP. + IOSEPHUS R. ET H.R.AVGUSTI. TURCARUM VICTORES PER- PETVI + "The emperor Leopold and his majesty King Joseph, the eternal conqueror of the Turks" inscription. The busts of the emperor Leopold I and King Joseph I turning to the right, wearing laurel wreaths. The emperor wears on his neck the Order of the Golden Fleece. Mark: P. H. M.

Reverse: SIC ASSVETA TVIS SEMPER VICTORIA CASTRIS "Your castles will be followed by victory for ever" inscription. In the dividing section: VARAD IVUM RECEPTUM / DIE V. IUNI. / MDCXCII. "The taking of Várad, 5th June, 1692." A kneeling figure offers the keys of the city to the enthroned Emperor, who is wearing Roman armour. The allegorical female figure of Victory holds a laurel wreath above the head of the Emperor. In the background is a military camp and the view of Várad. Mark: P. H. M.

The medallion which was the model for it had been made for the retaking of Varad. 2000 Turkish troops gave up the fortress to General Heister in return for free withdrawal.

The Medal Cabinet of the Hungarian National Museum has two copies of the playing disks made after the medallion and the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich also. One is in the Historisches Museum in Frankfurt am Main
