The sketches were made in accordance with the typical principles of international Art Nouveau, depicting stemmed glasses with floral ornaments. The foot was probably designed of metal, the cup of coloured, transparent glass, enriched with hot-applied, dark, irregularly spotted ornaments, although there is no textural reference to the material on the sketches. In his article abouth the 1892 Christmas exhibition of the Hungarian Society for Applied Arts, Kamill Fittler appraised the sketches for a
dish set, to which these two sketches belong: „The glass service designed by Kálmán Györgyi is also a worthy piece. The shapes match the material well, their technology requires no complicated impossibilities and they are characterized by a certain humourous individuality, tied to academic shapes in the basic lines but differing from them in the detail. The descreete colours give a fairly pleasant fine look to the composition. „
