The curved legs start from the four corners and meet in a bunch with elaborate curves, at about three-third of the total height of the table. Then they divide again into four branches, supporting the rectangular top. The rim of the top is profiled, with slightly curved sides and rounded corners.
It is first mentioned by the 1888 Thonet catalogue, identified as model No. 1.
