One distinctive feature of the ‘Release’ table is the rectangular hole in the centre of the tabletop through which the cables of the electronic and lighting devices that are placed on the table can be led to a floor socket while being kept out of sight. When not in use, the opening can be hidden with its own wooden cover. Produced by Fészek Részek Kft, the piece was jointly designed by László Bergovecz and Tamás Deme. It was featured at the 2017 Construma, a construction trade fair held in Budapest. The ‘Release’ table is easy to disassemble, and the parts (tabletop and legs) can be stacked for storage and transport. The components are joined without screws, no tool is required for assembly. Every part is machined from a sheet of plywood, which minimizes production waste. The legs and the tabletop are treated with AURO’s natural oil, while the parts that join them are dyed orange, as is the cover of the cable opening. The edges of the tabletop and the legs are rounded off.
