The carpet of geometric motifs in orange, red and beige colours on a greyish blue ground isMsymmetrical to the longitudinal axis. It once adorned the wall in the studio of painter Béla Zombory-Moldován, the director of the School of Design between 1932 and 1947. Family tradition says that the carpet was made in the weaving workshop of the school’s textile department led by the founder of the workshop (1906) Hungarian painter and graphic artist Artúr Lakatos (1880–1968), thus the high-quality woven textile of a fine design might have been planned by Artúr Lakatos.
