The four curved and fluted legs of the chair are joined by curved stretchers at the front and on the two sides. The curve of the seat rail is identical with that of the stretchers. The trapezoid, rounded leather seat is stitched down with nails, decorated with orange leather applications against the brown surface. The stylized flower motifs are braided with yellow silk thread. The cushioned arm rests and the curved, vertical supports of the armchair are shaped of one piece. The top of the pierced back support is decorated with applied leather flowers identical with those on the seat. The wooden frame of the back support is enriched with mounted ormolu flowers and leaves, imitating a water plant. The chairs described above were parts of the dining room suite exhibited at the Paris International Exhibition, where their maker was awarded a gold medal.
