The hemispherical repoussd ladle is decorated with engraved Renaissance foliage at the back. The broadening end of the handle shows an apostle in a cartouche on the top side, surmounted by an engraved inscription: S.TOMAS. On the reverse side there is a child St. John the Baptist dressed in a gown, and the date 1596. The finial of the prismatic handle is a Christ figure, his hand raised in blessing.
