The horizontal prismatic, wooden casket has a folding top. It is covered with mother-of-pearl plates the edge is mounted with flame-gilt brass and there is a keyhole shield of the same material on the front panel. The top is decorated with a miniature gouache landscape, painted on paper and placed in an oval slot, enframed with gilt brass, showing the inscription Weilburg. Marked at the bottom on the right Wigand. The inside of the top shows a glass mirror framed by pink string the casket is lined with mother-of-pearl plates. The bottom is covered with embossed, green paper. A similar, oval casket, unmarked, decorated with a view of Weilburg was once in the collection of Hugo Kilenyi.
