The prismatic box is decorated with the miraculous levitation of St. Peter of Alcanthra, who died in 1526: while praying in front of the statue of Virgin Mary, the saint begins to float in the air. The inside of the cover depicts St. Peter, emerging from a cloud, holding a lily in his left hand. The two shorter sides of the box show a building and a grave the two longer sides are decorated with St. Peter and his companion praying in front of a cross, and the sitting figure of St. Peter.
