On the cover of the rectangular snuffbox are sceptre, sword, crown and orb on an ornamental cushion pladed on a triumphal arch-like moulding, on an oval base in a landscape. There are three putti in front of it. One of them is blowing a trumpet, two are holding an open book with the inscription: Huberts/burg den 15 ten, / February 1767/ (The Hubertusburg peace ending the seven years war which had begun in 1756 was signed in 1763 - so the date here is an error). In front of the base is a scroll with an inscription: Wer begreift, den Frieden Schluss / den die weld, bewundern muss. Above the base in a sunburst and clouds are three arms holding glorias. These refer to the fact that the seven years war was fought against Prussia and her ally England by a coalition of Austria, France and Russia. On the right is a bush, on the left - as on the lateral side - are palm-trees. On one of the longitudinal sides is a palm tree in the middle of a shrubby field, with two putti below in their laps are laurel wreaths. On the other longitudinal side is a putto making a laurel wreath and another one, carrying two laurel wreaths and a palm leaf on his back, leaning against a palm-branch, as a caricature of the burden of glory. On the bottom of the snuffbox is a palm-tree standing alone. On the interior of the cover is a half-length portrait of Frederick the Great. He is standing before a light violet background, wears a blue coat, with an order on it, whose orange coloured band is flung over his shoulder. He holds a violet velvet cloak with ermine trimming before his breast, wears a white wig and black hat with white decoration. On the right is a green drapery.
