The rectangular casket of rounded corners opens on hinges. The centre of the top is decorated with the photograph of Francis Joseph. The bottom is made of cardboard, imitating leather. The rim of the top is lined' with a row of pierced heart and foliage motifs the same motifs create the sides, repeated twice. The casket is lined with silver cardboard on the outside and with pink silk on the inside. The four feet form a cartouche, combined with shells and leaved boughs. The opening peg is ear-shaped.
