The four baluster-shaped legs are joined by plain stretchers. The frieze hides a drawer with a knob. The cover is rectangular. This type of table was quite common in the cinquecento period it is called a "Bologna table" in literature, named after the place of origin. In Hungarian furniture-making this type was copied and called a table with "Italian legs". Apart from the piece described above there are three similar ones in the collection of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts (Inv. Nos. 18735, 18393, 18379), all belonging to the Procopius Collection.
