An apple-shaped, shallow bowl, indented at the bottom. At the top, there is a glass thread fixed while hot, forming the stem of the fruit. The centre of the outer side is faceted, with a blossoming wild rose bough, another one with rose shoots, and butterflies. The ash-tray is a "demi riche" or "Grand Genre" studio piece.
