A large, heavy stamp ring for a man. The whole surface is covered with leaved foliage. The top shows a soldered escutcheon, enclosed by tiny gold nuggets. The head can be opened, concealing a compartment in a square-shaped hole, which is covered by the folding, empty rim. The compartment is divided into four small parts, with engraved inscriptions on the rim BALLAARAT BENDIGO, OVENS, JIM CROW. Ballarat and Bendigo are towns in Australia, famous for their gold mines the other two names probably refer to the gold diggers.
