The wavy rim of the oval dish is lined with rose wreaths of polychrome leaves, over a gold base. The surface shows an oval frame of golden beads and lines, painted with a landscape of Trasimene, the lake near Perugia. The bottom shows the French inscription: Le lac de perouse.
