The reddish brown field shows five rows of three quartered octagonal medallions ("gols") with trefoils. The blue main stripe of the border is decorated with starry foliage. The import of carpets from Central Asia had a boom at the end of the nineteenth century. Central Asian carpets with red as the dominating colour were used first of all in gentlemen's rooms.
