The middle and the four corners of the yellow field show bunches of flowers. The yellow middle stripe of the border is decorated with a flowery- leafy garland.
The carpet is a typical representative of the compliance of oriental decoration with European taste, which was fairly fashionable at the time of Sultan Abdülmecid I (1839-1861). Similar pieces were made both for western export and everyday use.
