The fabric is printed with olive green on a greenish yellow ground. The pattern consists of large palmets with indented edges, springing from diagonally coiling tendrils that are enriched with indented leaves and flower stems with palmets. There is a three-pointed pomegranate stem in the centre of each large palmet. The pattern was modelled on Italian fabrics popular in the first quarter of the 15th century. The pattern can be found in the pattern books of Thomas Wardle (see - Manchester, Whitworth Art Gallery. Inv.No. 14008 and London, Victoria and Albert Museum, Inv.No. T.9 -1978, No.6). According to the latter, the beige variation of this pattern was exhibited at the 1888 Arts &Crafts in Melbourne.
