The young Francis Joseph has a moustache but wears no beard in this picture. He is dressed in a white uniform with golden collar, a red and black gown and a black shawl. The Order of the Golden Fleece hangs down from the neckline, whereas the star of the Marie Theresa Knightly Order and the cross of the Russian St. George Order appear on his breast. The bottom, flat surface of the frame is a cartouche manifold divided, from where the richly decorated part of moulded rose bunches and volutes start. The frame is closed with the imperial crown at the top.
