The wavy rim of the oval dish is ornamented with an embossed pattern of flowers and scroll foliage. In the interior the figure of Cupid with his bow and arrow, pursues a tortoise in front of a watermill. It has presumably an emblematic meaning. This is confirmed by a band of inscription on the upper part of the scene: LIEB HASSET SAUMSELIGKEIT.
The mark is on the upper rim of the dish.
