The handle of the knife and the fork are of the same decoration the blade of the knife is pointed, the fork is three-pronged. The flat handles slightly broaden towards the end, with curving joints near the finial. It is decorated with engraved scenes from the gospels of Saint John and Saint Luke in oval and semi-circular fields. The scenes are the following: The wedding at Canae, Jacob's well, the raising of Lazarus and Peter's miraculous catch of fish. The narrow sides of the handles bear engraved in scriptions: REIN SAINS DIEV and MARI DE BEHAIGNE Ao 1604. The blade and the fork are newer additions. An identical pair of knife and fork is also in the collection in the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts, although even more worn, with inscription MARIE BAVCHAR 1640/Inv.No. 59.1787. 1-2.
