Plaque - Hommage aux Graveurs franjais (Hommage to Masters of French Medal Art)

Front: A naked female figure with a laurel wreath chisels the names of French medal artists on a plate hanged on an oak tree: «OVDINE, J.C. CHAPLAIN, O. ROTY, CHAPV, DEGEORGE, DVPVIS, BOTTLE, PATTEY, (LAG)RANGE, LEVILLAIN, (HEL)LER, (T) AS SET, VERNON, A. DVBOIS, H. FRANCOIS». To the left, there is a sculpture stand with tools, surmounted by a scrolling ribbon inscription: «MAGISTRIS CAELATORIBV S / GLORIA IN AETERNVM». Back: At the bottom and on the right there is a laurel bough. The remaining surface is left blank for the inscription. The plaque was exhibited at the 1900 Paris International Exhibition where it was bought by Dr. Pal Majovszky, who donated it to the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts. Today this copy can be found in the Numismatic Collection of the Hungarian National Museum, with Inv.No. 50/935-74.
