The rectangular box with plain sides stands on four twisted, hoofed feet. There is a framework of string of pearl and serrated motifs on the surface. The long front side shows a fluted coat of arms with the initials A E. The cover is chased with a wreathed medallion, showing the same initials. The cover is pierced, enframed with stars, flowers, and palmettes in the corners. There is a chased cupid, holding a peacock in its hand, on both the right and the left side of the medallion. Marked with impressed town, duty and maker's mark J. Cahier, on the bottom and on the inside of the cover. Accessories: three small, round toilette boxes (IMM Inv.Nos. 56.1398. 1-2-3, Cat. No. 2.11.2).
