The flat, pear-shaped bottle has ground decoration: the initials L. E. B. and F. B. S. with coronets, among plaited leaves, and the inscription "In leyden beständig / in lieben getrey". Dated 1737 on the bottom. The technique and the motifs applied suggest a Bohemian origin. The basket- shaped silver setting is chased with acanthus leaves, birds and a heart. The cap has two chased squirrels and a bird on each side. Both the setting and the cap are added to the bottle later, because the setting partly covers the inscription and the initials ground on the bottle. From examination of the chased motifs, the manufacture, the setting and the cap can be dated to the middle of the 18th century. The top rim of the setting and the rim of the cap are marked with small, faded, French silver marks.
