The cushion shows an illustration for the ancient Greek fable of Aesop «The fox and the grapes». Each side of the cushion shows the fox walking, noticing the cluster of grapes, reaching forward for it, then, failing to reach it and walking sadly away. The background is light purple and light yellow, the twigs, and the cluster of grapes in the centre are only contoured. The composition uses the contrast of the reserved background and the picturesque, rust-brown figure of the fox. The cushion was introduced at the 1902 Christmas exhibition. According to the catalogue, it was embroidered by Paula Kőrössy. However, according to the previous owner, the cushion was embroidered by her mother, Lenke Boér.
