The two shorter sides of the prismatic plinth of a jointed rim close in a semicircle. The figure of the decoration is a lying hound, crossing its front legs and raising its head, with a belt on its neck.

The first pieces of this type were made in the 1820 s in the Royal Prussian Iron Foundry in Berlin, following the model of Friedrich Riese, a German sculptor. It was first cast in Munkacs in the early 1840's, during the activity of V. Willaschek. V. Willaschek produced a model similar to Riese's, except for the posture of the dog's feet. The top of the plinth is marked in cursives: MUNKATS. Several variants are knwon, in various private collections.
