The broad, slightly curved foot supports a ball- shaped body that is equipped with a slightly curved handle on one side. The long neck is divided by a small and a large ring and has a splaying top rim. The foot is decorated with blue and gilt lines contoured with red the body has eight gilt oval frames presenting relief-painted floral motifs in white, blue, red, yellow and green, or geometrical and foliage ornaments painted in blue and green. The medallion-like fields are enclosed by gilt flowers, the centre of which is painted in the above colours. One part of the neck and the upper ring is decorated with alternating blue and green lines and rows of spots. The top repeats the stylised, floral ornaments of the medallions on the body. The stripe flanked by two gild lines under the top rim is enriched with floral ornaments, painted in polychrome enamel and gilt. An analogous piece, made for the 1878 Paris World Exhibition, was published in the "Lobmeyr 1823- 1973" catalogue of the Österreichisches Museum für Angewandte Kunst, in Group 9, p. 15, without a detailed definition.
