A typical chinoiserie piece, showing the influence of Chinese porcelain, with blue decoration on a white base. The egg-shaped body is composed of eight sides, which show alternating strips of flowers with birds and slanted lattice-work with rosettes. The decoration is continued on the cover. The finial is a Buddhist symbol in relief: a “Fo” dog. Marked on the bottom: Duijn, in blue italics.
