It is the portrait of Crown Prince Rudolf (Franz Carl Joseph) Habsburg (1858–1889) with orders on his chest: the Order of the Golden Fleece and the Grand Cross to the Royal Hungarian Order of Saint Stephan. An interesting attribute of the ornamental bowl is that the detailed painting has a three-dimensional effect on the hollow surface.
The plate was framed in a high quality frame from the same period. It is rectangular, the edges are sectioned, around its internal edge there is an egg and anchor carving. Around the edge of the plate there is a laurel wreath in the corners of the frame there are scallops and next to them stylised tendril decorations.
The portrait is seen as an excellent purchase of the recent years.
